The Impact of Light Medical Aesthetics on the High-End Skincare Market
2025-01-06
Light medical aesthetics can replace some high-end anti-aging skincare products, which at least shows a trend in terms of corporate growth.
According to Qichacha, as of the end of October this year, 36,200 medical aesthetics-related enterprises have been registered, and the "survival rate" of these medical aesthetics enterprises is quite good.
Looking at the establishment years, there has been a high enthusiasm for entering the medical aesthetics track in recent three years, with existing enterprises with a founding year of 3 years or less accounting for a total of 67.09%, and enterprises with a founding year of more than 3 years accounting for 32.91%. In contrast, as of 2024, more than 10 high-end market-oriented brands have chosen to withdraw from the market or suspend operations.
The performance is even more straightforward. According to the GMV rankings of Tmall and Taobao beauty sales from January to September released by Magic Mirror Market Intelligence, brands strongly associated with medical aesthetics, such as Kefu Mei, have achieved a growth rate of 40%; whereas traditional well-known brands like Estée Lauder, Shiseido, and SK-II have all experienced which declines of varying magnitude in GMV.
