Net Sales Decline Amid Market Challenges
Before the US stock market opened on February 4th, Estée Lauder Companies released its financial report for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2025 (October to December 2024).
The report showed that the company achieved net sales of $4.004 billion (approximately 29.1 billion yuan) in the fourth quarter of last year, a year-on-year decrease of 6%.
Looking at Estée Lauder's financial report, in the fourth quarter of last year, the net sales of the company's three major business segments—skin care, makeup, and hair care—all declined. Specifically, the net sales of the skin care business fell by 12% to $1.921 billion, with a volume decrease of 15%.
Regarding the 12% decline in skin care net sales, Estée Lauder attributed it primarily to the challenging retail environment in the Asia-Pacific market and the impact on its travel retail business in Asia, which led to a drop in net sales for both Estée Lauder and La Mer.
