With the continuous acceleration of China's urbanization process, the improvement of national quality, changes in population structure, and the transformation of consumption concepts,
coupled with the young consumer groups led by the post-80s and post-90s generations, have created a favorable market environment and growth space for the development of the cosmetics industry.

By the end of 2022, the number of cosmetics manufacturing enterprises in China reached 5,512, a year-on-year increase of 10.79%. Among them,
Guangdong Province accounts for 55.2% of the total number of cosmetics manufacturing enterprises in China, with the largest proportion,
followed by Zhejiang and Jiangsu, with proportions of 10.8% and 5.6%, respectively, and the remaining provinces all account for less than 5%.

At the same time, the retail scale of cosmetics is also continuing to grow. In 2021, the retail market size of cosmetics in China reached 402.6 billion yuan,
with per capita consumption amounting to 285.01 yuan per person. In 2022, affected by the repeated outbreaks of the epidemic, the retail of cosmetics in China declined.

The per capita consumption amount in 2022 dropped to 278.80 yuan per person, and the retail scale of cosmetics in China decreased to 393.6 billion yuan.
Among them, skincare products accounted for as high as 45.11%,
followed by hair care and makeup categories, with proportions of 12.00% and 12.10%, respectively. However, looking at the long-term market,
with the continuous increase in the urbanization rate and per capita disposable income,
people will pay more attention to personal image. The Chinese cosmetics market will return to a growth trend in the future.

According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics,
from January to September 2023, the retail scale of cosmetics in China has completed 296.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%.
It can be seen that in the post-epidemic era, the Chinese cosmetics market is steadily recovering.
